Nuri Bilge Ceylan’s Turkish Cannes competition entry shared the Grand Prix and follows a motley crew of men who search for a missing body in the Anatolian steppes.

The Cinema Guild will announce theatrical release details shortly.

“Once Upon A Time in Anatolia is a true masterwork, a richly detailed and stunningly photographed investigation into both a murder and the human condition,” The Cinema Guild’s Ryan Krivoshey said.

Krivoshey negotiated the deal with Sezgi Ustun on behalf of producer Zeynep Ozbatur of Zeyno Film.

The Cinema Guild’s recent acquisitions include Hong Sangsoo’s Cannes entry The Day He Arrives and Bela Tarr’s Berlin prize winner The Turin Horse.

  • Paladin has acquired US rights to Margaret Whitton’s feature directorial debut romantic comedy A Bird Of The Air starring Rachel Nichols and Jackson Hurst.
