TWC’s genre label negotiated the deal with IM Global for Mark Tonderai’s virus thriller.
IM Global genre division Octane will fully finance Pest and Jason Blum [pictured] of Blumhouse Productions will produce with Sherryl Clark of Busted Shark.
Blumhouse International is overseeing foreign sales. The company was announced on the eve of Cannes and struck a worldwide distribution and servicing deal with IM Global that kicked off with Sinister 2 and Stretch.
Pest is based on Barbara Marshall’s original Black List screenplay about the teenage sister of an infected girl in a town ravaged by a deadly virus who documents her family’s life in quarantine. IM Global CEO Stuart Ford, Charles Layton and Matt Kaplan serve as executive producers.
TWC COO David Glasser and evp of business and legal affairs and acquisitions Michal Steinberg negotiated the deal with Ford, IM Global svp of business affairs Florence Larsonneur and Blum.
