Imax Corporation and The Walt Disney Studios have renewed their exhibition relationship with a multi-film deal that runs from this year through 2017.
The agreement covers the Disney portfolio of Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Lucasfilm titles.
Highlights are expected to include the stand-alone Rogue One Star Wars film and Star Wars: Episode VIII, Marvel’s Ant-Man, Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 and Thor: Ragnarok.
The roster covers Pixar’s Finding Dory and Toy Story 4 (in limited release) as well as Disney’s The Finest Hours, Alice In Wonderland: Through The Looking Glass, The Jungle Book and Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
Disney separately announced it has pushed back the Chris Pine Coast Guard thriller The Finest Hours from October 9 this year to January 29 2016. The film will open in 3D.
As previously announced, Alice Through The Looking Glass will open in 3D on May 27, 2016, while Pirates Of The Caribbean 5 aka Dead Men Tell No Tales will open in 3D on July 7, 2017.
