French sales outfit Elle Driver has done brisk sales on Warwick Thornton’s Camera d’Or winner Samson And Delilah.
The sales company confirmed to ScreenDaily that film has gone to Trinity in the UK, Cineart in Benelux, Clap in Portugal, Orlando in Israel, Phars for the Middle East, Video Vision in South Africa, Cinemania in the former Yugoslavia, Babilla in Columbia and HBO for Latin America. The US is currently in negotiations. Why Not released it in France on November 25.
The film is about a pair of teenage aborigines living in an isolated community in the Australian desert. When tragedy strikes, they flee their home and embark on a journey of survival.
Samson And Delilah is Australia’s submission for the foreign language Oscar and recently took six prizes at the country’s Inside Film Awards including best film, actor, actress, director, screenplay and music.
