Entertainment Film Distributors picks up seaside-set teen comedy-horror from director Andy de Emmony.
UK distributor Entertainment Film Distributors has picked up director Andy de Emmony’s comedy-horror Love Bite from WestEnd Films.
The deal was negotiated by WestEnd MD Eve Schoukroun and Nigel Green for Entertainment Film Distributors (EFD).
Jessica Szohr (Gossip Girl), Luke Pasqualino (Skins) and Ed Speleers (Eragon) star in Love Bite, which follows four friends who find their dead-end town turned upside down when a bloodthirsty werewolf starts devouring local virgins. They soon realize the only way to survive will be to lose their virginity as soon as possible. Kierston Wareing and Timothy Spall co-star.
Robert Bernstein and Douglas Rae of Ecosse Films (The Water Horse, Becoming Jane, Wuthering Heights) and Paul Ritchie (co-producer, Slumdog Millionaire) produce in association with Notting Hill Films. WestEnd Films financed the production and handles international sales.
The film wrapped on Nov 14 after a five-week shoot in Scotland. The parties will now be hoping the film’s blend of young leads, seaside setting, sex and comedy inspires many of the UK cinemagoers who flocked to EFD’s summer smash The Inbetweeners Movie.
BAFTA-winning TV director de Emmony made his feature debut last year on BBC Films-Icon comedy West is West.
WestEnd was shopping Love Bite at this year’s AFM, where they also unveiled Catherine Harwicke’s Knockout and Gabriele Salvatores’ Siberian Education.
