eOne to release up to eight Summit films a year until 2015.
Distributor eOne has renewed its lucrative output deal with Summit Entertainment, securing distribution of the indie studio’s titles in all media in Canada and the UK until 2015.
eOne will release up to eight Summit films a year, including the fourth and fifth instalments of the Twilight franchise, Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and Breaking Dawn – Part 2, and Paul W S Anderson’s 3D version of The Three Musketeers.
eOne secured the biggest 2010 marketshare among independent UK distributors in 2010, in large part thanks to the £29m taken by Summit’s Twilight Eclipse. The two also successfully collaborated on Red (£6.8m in UK), Furry Vengeance (£3.3m in UK) and Letters To Juliet (£2m in UK).
“We are thrilled to extend our strong relationship with Summit Entertainment. The highly-successful partnership has fostered tremendous growth in both our businesses over the past three years,” said Darren Throop, President & CEO, eOne.
“The team at eOne has been a great partner for the studio these past several years,” added Summit Co-Chairmen Patrick Wachsberger and Rob Friedman. “The executive team continues to prove their ability in bringing our films to the largest audiences possible in these two key markets and it is more than fitting for us to have them continue to do so.”
