eOne has acquired US rights to Next Turn Productions’ coming-of-age drama Jolene based on E L Doctorow’s short story Jolene: A Life. 

Jessica Chastain plays a 15-year-old girl who leaves home and spends a decade traveling across the country as she experiences life, love and adversity. Dermot Mulroney, Michael Vartan and Chazz Palminteri also star.

Vice-president of worldwide acquisitions Sejin Park negotiated the deal with Leslie Abell and Robert Myman on behalf of Next Turn Productions.

eOne will debut the film theatrically in October with a platform release in New York City prior to distribution on home video, VOD, digital and TV.
