Shaun Robert Smith to direct the WW2 action horror; producers include Scott Mann [pictured].
Entertainment One (eOne) has struck a deal with producers Mann Made Films and sales company AV Pictures to take all UK rights to Shaun Robert Smith’s The 4th Reich.
The Second World War action horror has a cast including Sean Pertwee and Tom Savini.
It will shoot in May in the UK and AV plans to continue pre-sales in Cannes.
Producers are Scott Mann (The Tournament) and James Edward Barker (4.3.2.1) with Kevin Scott Frakes (Night Train To Lisbon) and Michael J Bassett (Silent Hill 2) executive producing.
Frakes’ PalmStar Media Capital is partially financing the project, as is international sales outfit AV Pictures, and there is also private equity.
eOne’s Manager of Worldwide Acquisitions Poonam Sahota brought the project in.
Producer Barker said, “We couldn’t be happier at eOne, they are one of the best distributors in the UK and no one can deny that Poonam has been there since day one. We fully appreciate her commitment and support. With the addition PalmStar, we believe this shows how much of an international project this can be and we are proud to have such a solid team behind this now.”
Lee Brazier of AV Pics added, “We are incredibly excited to have eOne on board who have always been a passionate supporter of the project and they continue to go from strength to strength within the UK market - we could not be happier to have such a powerhouse distributor on board.”
Mann Made’s genre slate also includes Lawrence Gough’s Extraction and The Vanishment, written by Weekend’s Andrew Haigh and co-produced by Tristan Goligher.
