UK doc specialist gets £200,000 investment as business sees 30% year-on-year growth.
UK documentary specialist Dogwoof has recently seen a £200,000 capital injection from private investors who will now take a minority stake in the company.
The injection comes after Dogwoof in July expanded its core distribution business to include film sales. The company currently has five films on its sales slate including Ashley Sabin and David Redmon’s Girl Model.
“The focus going forward will be to grow the company’s new sales business which started in July and also to develop the company’s online capabilities,” Dogwoof CEO Anna Godas [pictured] said. “These investors really understand what we are doing at Dogwoof. What we do, not only directly results in broadening audiences who watch documentaries but also contributes to building a sustainable doc industry. Despite the recession our company has grown 30% since last year.”
Further investment in the company is expected soon.
Dogwoof releases Carol Morley’s Dreams Of A Life on Dec 16.
