Rick Alverson’s film has screened at Rotterdam, SXSW, and Sarasota and stars Will Oldham and Colm O’Leary.
New Jerusalem [pictured] follows an Irish immigrant who returns to the US after serving in Afghanistan and befriends an Evangelical Christian who tries to save the veteran.
The film is scheduled to premiere theatrically on Nov 30 for a one-week run at Brooklyn’s new Videology theatre followed by nationwide screenings.
Factory 25 will also release the film digitally on the same day on iTunes, Amazon and other digital outlets with DVD release and non-theatrical screenings set for spring 2013.
The Cinema Guild has taken US home video, digital and non-theatrical rights to Dan Sallitt’s Brooklyn-set coming of age drama The Unspeakable Act. The film will open theatrically in early 2013 followed by a DVD and VOD release.
