Cameron Diaz has joined Colin Firth on the cast of the Gambit remake based on a script by Joel and Ethan Coen that Glen Basner’s FilmNation is pre-selling at the EFM next week.
Michael Hoffman, who earned acclaim for The Last Station, will direct the story of a London art curator who involves a Texan steer rope in his scheme to dupe a wealthy collector into buying a fake Monet.
Shooting is scheduled to start in London in May. Mike Lobell is producing alongside Crime Scene Pictures partners Adam Ripp and Rob Paris, who are also financing the project.
Ronald Neame directed the 1966 original starring Michael Caine and Shirley MacLaine.
FilmNation’s EFM slate includes Midnight’s Children and The Wettest Country.
