Korean sales company FineCut has announced a slew deals including last year’s Cannes title Bedevilled, which recently won the Grand Prix at the Gérardmer Fantastic Film Festival and sold to Distrib Films for France.
Other French deals were closed for the company’s creature feature Chaw to Opening Film and the Korean War film 71 - Into The Fire sold to CTV. The latter also sold to Hwa Yea Multimedia for Malaysia and Brunei.
71 and Bedevilled are scheduled for release in Japan in February and April through Kadokawa Pictures and King Records respectively.
Finecut’s recent thriller Midnight F.M., which will be screening in EFM, sold to Mei Ah Selection (HK), Eagle International (Taiwan) and Shaw (Singapore). The film is about a brain game between a female radio DJ and a psycho killer during a live radio show.
The company’s romantic comedy Cyrano Agency, inspired by the French play Cyrano de Bergerac sold to CatchPlay (Taiwan) and Clover Films (Singapore).
Action film Troubleshooter sold to Catchplay (Taiwan) and J-Bics (Thailand) pre-EFM while Kim Jee-woon’s I Saw The Devil sold to Mediatres (Spain), Maywin Films (ex-USSR), MPA (Portugal), Atlantic (Scandinavia and Iceland) and Mei Ah Selection (Hong Kong).
