Hollywood continued to dip its toes in the viral marketing potential of the Twitter-owned platform on Monday [25] as director James Mangold launched a six-second clip of Fox’s upcoming superhero release.
The ‘twzzr’ or ‘tweaser’ spot on Vine coincided with the first showing by the studio of its new one-sheet depicting an irate Hugh Jackman kneeling in a rain-lashed street, claws unleashed.
Mangold tweeted the video loop on Monday, promising fans a 20-second teaser of the trailer on Tuesday and the debut of the trailer proper on Wednesday on MTV and Apple Trailers.
The Wolverine is scheduled to open in theatres in 3D and 2D on Jul 26.
Last week FilmDistrict used Vine to promote Olympus Has Fallen, the Gerard Butler action thriller that opened in second place at the North American box office at the weekend.
