MPI Media Group, LA-based XYZ Films and Amsterdam’s Pellicola will jointly produce Richard Raaphorst’s horror story Frankenstein’s Army.
The project is scheduled to begin principal photography this spring in Prague an Amsterdam and is being financed by MPI, who co-represent international rights with XYZ. MPI/Dark Sky Films will distribute in North America.
Frankenstein’s Army takes place towards the end of World War II as Russian soldiers uncover a ghastly plot to create Nazi supersoldiers from the body parts of fallen comrades.
Nick Jongerius and Daniel Koefoed of Pellicola and Todd Brown of XYZ Films are producing and XYZ’s Nate Bolotin, Aram Tertzakian and Nick Spicer will serve as executive producers.
MPI Media Group’s evp Greg Newman brokered the deal with Nate Bolotin of XYZ and Daniel Koefoed of Pellicola.
