Freestyle Releasing and Freestyle Digital Media (FDM) have acquired US theatrical and VoD rights to the young adult property Tiger Eyes and will distribute on Jun 7. Separately, First Run has struck a deal for Living Downstream.
Judy Blume co-adapted the screenplay from her bestseller of the same name. Her son Lawrence Blume co-wrote the screenplay and directed the story of a grieving teenage girl who relocates to New Mexico where she strikes up a fateful friendship with a Native American.
Willa Holland, Tatanka Means, Amy Jo Johnson, Russell Means, Cynthia Stevenson and Elise Eberle star in the Amber Entertainment and Tashmoo Productions co-production. Ruth Pomerance serves as executive producer.
FDM CEO Susan Jackson and director of acquisitions Chris Charalambous negotiated the Tiger Eyes deal with George Cooper of Tashmoo Productions.
