Paramount, MGM and Skydance Productions’ follow-up to the 2009 action film will launch in select international theatres in remastered IMAX 3D on Mar 28 and embark on a one-week run in North America the following day, when it opens wide across the continent.

“Dwayne Johnson has resonated well with IMAX fans, and we believe his strong global appeal, coupled with the action spectacle of G.I. Joe: Retaliation in IMAX 3D is sure to excite moviegoers,” said Greg Foster, chairman and president of IMAX Filmed Entertainment.

Paramount pulled G.I. Joe: Retaliation from its summer 2012 release date and has set the film to open wide on Mar 29.
