The first film under the deal will be Marie Losier’s award-winning The Ballad Of Genesis And Lady Jaye which opens theatrically on Mar 8. GoDigital will exploit VoD and EST rights.
Adopt anticipates releasing six to eight films a year including the recent acquisition of Ann Emonds’ Nuit #1, which premiered at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival.
GoDigital’s Andy Bohn and Adopt Film’s co-managing executive Jeff Lipsky negotiated the distribution deal.
“Jeff Lipsky has been a pioneer in independent film distribution for four decades so we are honored to be working with Adopt Films in the evolving digital distribution landscape,” Bohn said. “Jeff, Tim and Karen have exquisite taste and we look forward to bringing their films to the widest possible audience through our cable, satellite, IPTV and broadband partners.”
“GoDigital is enormously incentivised to put our films at the forefront of their expanding company,” Lipsky said. “We expect to learn from the best and trust that Andy and his colleagues are poised to maximise our VOD revenues.”
