Japan’s Gold View has sold 72-year-old pornographer documentary Yoyochu – In The Land Of The Rising Sex to Rai Three for Italy.

An in-depth portrait of Tadashi Yoyogi, a.k.a. Yoyochu, the documentary shows the twists and turns of his life, the universal theme hidden in his works and testimonials from those who give him high marks for the intellectual quality of his films and writings.

It is directed by Masato Ishioka, who previously directed Tokyo Noir and the Venice title Scout Man.

Producer Kiyo Joo said, “Yoyochu world premiered last year in November at the Rome film festival and I met Enrico Ghezzi, who programmes for Rai, while I was there. I gave him a screener and we signed the deal here at EFM.”

Gold View also sold Shinya Tsukamoto’s Vital to Rai Three (Italy).
