Here Media has taken international sales rights to Emily Abt’s narrative feature directorial debut Toe To Toe.

Regent Worldwide Sales will handle international sales on behalf of Here Media on the story of the friendship between two girls from different social and racial backgrounds at a Washington DC prep school.

The film stars newcomers Louisa Krause and Sonequa Martin and premiered at Sundance. Abt produced for Pureland Pictures and Susan Leber of Suzie Q Productions.

Abt’s first film Take It From Me aired on PBS’ P.O.V. series and centred on the human impact of welfare reform.

She is represented by Charles King at William Morris Endeavor Entertainment and Ava Greenfield, and managed by Jeremy Bell and Lindsay Williams of The Gotham Group.

Here Media’s senior vice president of sales and distribution Liz Mackiewicz brokered the deal with former William Morris Independent co-head Rena Ronson.
