Veteran executive leaves job as managing director of Fox UK to replace Jon Anderson at Paramount Pictures International in London.
Veteran UK marketing executive Ian George has joined Paramount Pictures International (PPI) as executive vice president of international marketing. George joins PPI from 20th Century Fox UK where he has been managing director for the last four years.
George takes over for Jon Anderson, who will leave at the end of 2010 to relocate to his native Australia. Anderson has been EVP of marketing for PPI since its inception in 2007.
“We are delighted to have someone as talented and passionate about marketing movies join the very experienced team at PPI,” said PPI president Andrew Cripps in a statement. “Ian joins Paramount at an exciting time with a great slate of films set for release over the next 12 months”.
Based at PPI’s west London headquarters, he will take up his duties at Paramount in the autumn.
Prior to Fox, George spent seven years at Pathe UK where he oversaw the marketing and distribution of over 20 films a year. He also spent five years as marketing director at Warner Bros UK and before that worked for ad agencies Grey Entertainment and FCO.
