Icarus Films has acquired all North American rights to Patricio Guzman’s documentary Nostalgia For The Light.

The film premiered at Cannes and will receive its North American premiere in Toronto on September 13.

Icarus plans a spring, 2011 theatrical release for the visual exploration of the pre-history, history and present of Chile and the cosmos.

“We’re proud to continue our relationship with Patricio Guzman and [producer] Renate Sachse and bring his latest film to Stateside audiences,” Icarus president Jonathan Miller said after negotiating the deal with Yoann Ubermulhim of Pyramide International.
