IFC Films has acquired US rights to Pascal Chaumeil’s French hit Heartbreaker (L’Arnacoeur) ahead of its North American premiere at COLCOA in Los Angeles tonight [19].
The film is a UPI co-production between Christian Grass’ international production group (part of UPI) and Quad in France and has grossed more than $21.5m in France after five weekends.
Vanessa Paradis and Romain Duris star in the romantic comedy about a group of friends who break hearts for a living. Laurent Zeitoun, Jeremy Doner, and Yoann Gromb wrote the screenplay.
Nicolas Duval Adassovsky, Yann Zenou and Zeitoun produced.
IFC Films’ Arianna Bocco and Lizzie Nastro negotiated the deal with Gregoire Melin of Kinology and IFC will release through its VOD day-and-date model IFC In Theaters.
