IFC Films has acquired US rights to Studio Canal’s gangster tale, which marks the directorial debut of Rowan Joffe.
Sam Riley, Andrea Riseborough, John Hurt and Helen Mirren star in the Graham Greene adaptation about an ambitious gangster who attempts to seduce a waitress who possesses damning evidence against him.
Arianna Bocco brokered the deal with Anna Marsh of Studio Canal. IFC Films plans a summer release.
Jenny Borgars, Will Clarke, and Lamie Laurenson served as executive producers. Studio Canal financed and the BBC and UKFC produced the first of Studio Canal’s ambitious slate of English-language films. Studio Canal subsidiary Optimum will release in the UK.
