IFC Films has acquired worldwide rights to Tiny Furniture excluding the UK, South Africa, Germany, France, Benelux, New Zealand and Australia.
Lena Dunham wrote and directed and Kyle Martin and Alicia Van Couvering produced the SXSW narrative feature competition winner about a university graduate who faces the prospect of life without any valuable skills.
Dunham stars alongside Laurie Simmons, Grace Dunham, David Call, and Alex Karpovsky.
IFC Films will release Tiny Furniture via its IFC In Theaters theatrical and VOD day-and-date pipeline.
Lizzie Nastro of IFC Films brokered the deal with Josh Braun of Submarine on behalf of the film-makers.
“Tiny Furniture is one of the great discoveries of the year,” IFC Entertainment president Jonathan Sehring said. “Lena Dunham has a completely original voice and we’re thrilled to be able to work with her and her team on bringing the film to a wider audience on all of our platforms.”
