Max Giwa and Dania Pasquini, the duo behind StreetDance 3D, will direct 3D musical Walking On Sunshine for Vertigo Films. IM Global is handling international sales and Vertigo will release in the UK.

Walking On Sunshine will be set against the classic pop hits of the Eighties and centres on a mother and daughter who unwittingly fall for the same man in Spain.

The directors are in post-production on StreetDance 2 and have just wrapped the short film What If…? for the 2012 Olympic Games.

“With the huge international success of the first StreetDance movie and the expected even bigger success of the second, Max and Dania are currently two of the most commercial directors out of the UK and there is no one better placed to direct a big, commercial, fun filled musical,” producer James Richardson said.

“We have put every Eighties song that everyone loves from the pop world into the script, hoping everyone will be dancing in the aisles!”
