Jean-Pierre Jeunet pick-up continues IMAX’s focus on tailoring programming to specific regions or countries.
Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet, will be the second French language feature to be released by IMAX. It will be released in IMAX cinemas across France, from October 16, with the possibility of extending to other territories.
Sold by Gaumont, it is the second French language film to be released by IMAX following HOUBA! On The Trail Of The Marsupilami. It continues the company’s focus on tailoring programming to specific regions or countries.
IMAX is also working on its first Russian local release, Stalingrad and its first local language Indian film, Dhoom 3, later this year.
The Young And Prodigious T.S Spivet is an adaptation of Reif Larsen’s novel about a 12-year-old cartographer who embarks on a solo journey from his Montana home to pick up an award at the Smithsonian Institution.
The announcement was made by IMAX CEO Rich Gelfond in Cannes today.
