IMAX Corporation and Gaumont will digitally remaster Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s The Young And Prodigious T.S. Spivet and release on IMAX 3D across France on Oct 16.
The film is an adaptation of Reif Larsen’s novel about a 12-year-old cartographer who embarks on a solo journey from his Montana home to pick up an award at the Smithsonian Institution.
“With films like Amelie and A Very Long Engagement, Jean-Pierre Jeunet has a strong track record of creating adventurous, imaginative and emotional films that connect with audiences everywhere,” said IMAX Entertainment chairman and president Greg Foster [pictured].
“For its first movie in 3D, Gaumont is very proud to work with a director such as Jean-Pierre Jeunet,” said Gaumont CEO Sidonie Dumas. “Today, our partnership with IMAX is the best artistic opportunity to magnify and emphasize Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s work on The Young And Prodigious T.S. Spivet.”
“We are thrilled that IMAX has decided to join us in this adventure,” said Jeunet. “This is a technological and artistic partnership that will elevate the high standards of 3D image and sound already ensured in The Young And Prodigious T.S. Spivet.”
