Christopher Nolan’s number one North American film Inception was poised to cross the $20m worldwide box office mark in Imax theatres today [27].
The Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures sci-fi thriller (pictured) added $4.8m on 197 Imax screens in North America over the weekend to bring the tally to approximately $16.1m.
The early international running total stands at $3.2m following a $1.8m weekend haul from 52 screens.
“We’re thrilled with the strong way Inception is holding its ground, which has become a calling card of Chris Nolan’s body of work,” Imax Filmed Entertainment chairman and president Greg Foster said. “We are also delighted that the Imax theatre network is featuring one of the most talked about movies of the summer.”
