Indican Pictures announced on Thursday [28] that it has acquired all international rights to Paramyth Film’s A Green Story. The company previously acquired all North American rights.
Nika Agiashvili wrote and directed the biopic about Van Vlahakis, the Greek founder of Earth Friendly Products who arrived in the US as an impoverished immigrant.
Ed O’Ross, Shannon Elizabeth, Annabella Sciorra, George Finn and Malcolm McDowell [pictured] star alongside Billy Zane.
Glen Reynolds of Circus Road Films negotiated the international rights deal on behalf of the film-makers with Indican president Shaun Hill.
“Indican has done such a great job with their domestic strategy on the film, we are definitely looking forward to working with Shaun Hill and her team on the international release,” said Agiashvili.
“This all-star cast headlines an inspirational look at the American Dream,” said Hill. “The message of the film is perfectly timed as the world focuses on the green movement, fighting corporate greed and personal integrity, which Van Vlahakis exemplifies.”
A Green Story premiered at the 2012 Los Angeles Greek Film Festival. Indican will announce the North American release date in due course.
