Jamie Foxx has leant his weight to the documentary and will present the film, which Roadside Attractions will release in the US in September.

Mark Landsman directed the film about alumni from Houston’s Kashmere High School Stage Band who return home after 35 years to play a tribute concert for their inspirational 92-year-old former band leader.

Thunder Soul is an Indie Spirit nominee and won the 2010 SXSW audience awards.

Snoot Entertainment’s Keith Calder and Jessica Wu produced with Landsman. Foxx will serve as executive producer, along with his FoxxKing Entertainment partner Jaime King.
