Directors Fortnight opener has sold to 15 territories.
MK2 has announced sales in some 15 territories of Belgian-based directorial trio Dominque Abel, Fiona Gordon and Bruno Romy’s Directors’ Fortnight screener The Fairy, including to Kino Lorber for the US, Pandastorm for Germany and Austria, Cineart for Benelux, Praesens for Switerland and Bir Films for Turkey.
“Australia and the UK, among others, are currently being closed,” the company said in a release.
In other sales, MK2 said it had sold the Queer Palm Winner Olivier Hermanus’ Beauty (Skoonheid), which screened in Un Certain Regard, to the UK’s Peccadillo Pictures and ABC for Benelux.
Angelina Maccarone’s The Look, about actress Charlotte Rampling, which screened in the Cannes Classics section, was picked up by Kino Lorber as well as Piffl Medien for Germany, ABC distribution for Benelux and Xenix for Switzerland.
New territories were also added to the long list of pre-sales for Walter Salles’ adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s On the Road. New buyers included Playarte (Latin America), Alliance (Canada), Noble Entertainment in association with Mis.Label, Future Film and Star Media Entertainment (Scandinavia), Rosebud (Greece) and Atom (Taiwan).
They join existing distributors Icon (UK and Australia), Cineart (Benelux), Telemuenchen (Germany, Austria), Medusa (Italy), Filmcoopi (Switzerland) and Falcon (Middle East).
