The UK sales agent continues to expand its distribution business with the release of Orr’s black comedy.
Boutique film sales outfit Left Films is continuing to extend its UK all-rights distribution business, with its first theatrical release - Alex Orr’s black comedy Blood Car, starring Anna Chlumsky, which will be launched February 24.
The film is the seventh release for Left Films, which began life as a sales company in 2009, launching its distribution label last August. Focusing on new cult films, in the horror, sci-fi, action and comedy genres, Left aims to release 20 home entertainment and 3 theatrical films per year.
Forthcoming releases include UK limited theatrical for Oliver S Milburn’s vampire story The Harsh Light Of Day and DVD/VOD releases of Quentin Lee’s The People I’ve Slept With and Stuart Simpson’s El Monstro Del Mar.
Managing director Helen Grace, who also has producer credits on two features currently in post, Marc Price’s Magpie and Dominic Brunt’s zombie film Before Dawn, said: “Our passion for indie genre films, and our efforts to promote them and engage with their fanbases, has led quite naturally to our releasing some titles directly in the UK”.
