The distributor has swooped on North American rights to The Angriest Man In Brooklyn. Cargo Entertainment handles international sales. Separately, Film Movement has taken For A Woman.
Phil Alden Robinson’s feature stars Robin Williams, Mila Kunis, Melissa Leo, Peter Dinklage and Hamish Linklater.
Landscape Entertainment’s Bob Cooper and Tyler Mitchell produced with Daniel J Walker of Force Majeure.
MICA Entertainment and Vedette Finance funded the film, which shot on location in Brooklyn last autumn and centres on a man who attempts to right all the wrongs in his life after being informed he has 90 minutes left to live.
“This is a wonderful film that will be a great day and date theatrical/VOD specialty release for us,” said Marc Danon, Lionsgate vice-president of acquisitions and business development. “Robin Williams and Mila Kunis highlight an immensely talented cast and we look forward to working with Bob and Tyler on this feature.”
Lionsgate brokered the deal with WME Global on behalf of the film-makers.
- Film Movement has acquired North American rights to Diane Kurys’ For A Woman (Pour Une Femme) and will release theatrically in second quarter 2014 followed by VOD and DVD.
