Meanwhile a domestic deal on the Doha Film Institute’s The Reluctant Fundamentalist was expected, possibly as soon as Wednesday. Hal Sadoff handles domestic rights and K5 International is selling the rest of the world.

Much Ado About Nothing stars Amy Acker, Alexis Denisof, Nathan Fillion, Fran Kranz, Jillian Morgese, Sean Maher, Clark Gregg and Reed Diamond. It is the first film from Kai Cole and Whedon’s Bellwether Pictures.

Lionsgate’s Jason Constantine, Eda Kowan and Wendy Jaffe negotiated the deal with CAA on behalf of the filmmakers.

  • IFC Films has acquired US rights from Myriad Pictures to Jamie Babbit’s thriller Breaking The Girls starring Madeline Zima, Agnes Bruckner and Shawn Ashmore. Mark Distefano and Guinevere Turner co-wrote. Myriad’s Kirk D’Amico produced with Andrea Sperling, while Peter Abrams and Robert Levy of Tapestry Films served as executive producers. Myriad handles international sales. D’Amico negotiated the sale with Sundance Selects/IFC Films’ Arianna Bocco.
