Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions have acquired all US and Canadian rights from WME Global to Justin Simien’s comedy ahead of two shows at New Directors/New Films this weekend.

Dear White People won the special jury award for breakthrough talent when it premiered at Sundance this year and offers a satirical look at campus life and racial politics at a fictional Ivy League college.

Effie T Brown and Julia Lebedev produced alongside Simien, Angel Lopez, Ann Le and Lena Waithe while Stephanie Allain and Leonid Lebedev served as executive producers.
