Lionsgate and Studiocanal have signed a worldwide home entertainment distribution deal with Miramax.
Under the long-term agreement Lionsgate and Studiocanal will distribute more than 550 titles from the Miramax library across DVD, Blu-ray, VOD and electronic sell-through platforms.
Lionsgate will partner with Studiocanal to distribute Miramax titles in the UK and Europe and the deal kicks off in the US on Mar 15 with the Jennifer Aniston rom-com The Switch (pictured).
The Miramax library includes Shakespeare In Love, TheEnglish Patient, Pulp Fiction and Good Will Hunting.
“The Miramax library will be one of the most treasured jewels in our home entertainment crown,” Lionsgate’s president and COO Steve Beeks said.
“The Miramax slate is a perfect fit for Studiocanal’s core values and vision and we believe it will resonate with European audiences,” Studiocanal CEO Olivier Courson said.
“With their expertise and success in the home entertainment marketplace, we consider both Lionsgate and Studiocanal to be the perfect partners to distribute these films,” Miramax CEO Lang.
