Barry Levinson’s found footage eco-horror film stems from the producers behind Paranormal Activity and Insidious.

The Bay is an Alliance presentation in association with the film’s international sales agent IM Global. Lionsgate acquired rights from Alliance, whose distribution network will release the film in the UK, Spain and Canada.

Levinson co-wrote the script with Michael Wallach about an biological disaster in Chesapeake Bay that unleashes a terrifying nemesis. Levinson produced with Jason Blum, Steven Schneider and Oren Peli.

Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Jason Sosnoff, Colin Strause, and Greg Strause served as executive producers. 

The deal was negotiated by Lionsgate’s Jason Constantine, Eda Kowan and Wendy Jaffe with ICM and CAA on behalf of the filmmakers. ICM packaged the film and represents Levinson and Wallach.
