The Little Film Company has licensed the Dennis Quaid thriller Beneath The Darkness to California Filmes for all Latin America.
Vice-president of sales and acquisitions Clay Epstein brokered the deal with California’s Balan Melarkode.
Quaid plays a mysterious mortician and friendly neighbour in a small Texas town where a group of teens led by Tony Oller and Aimee Teegarden fight to expose the dark secrets of his old house.
Martin Guigui directs and Ronnie Clemmer is producing from a screenplay by Bruce Wilkinson, who also serves as executive producer with Scott Mednick.
“We are very selective with the films that we are acquiring right now and after reading the script and knowing the cast, we couldn’t wait to get onboard,” Melarkoda said. “We’re convinced of the commercial value and look forward to releasing the film.”
The film is currently in post-production and The Little Film Company will show a promo. The slate includes Fred Schepisi’s Eye Of The Storm starring Geoffrey Rush, Judy Davis and Charlotte Rampling.
