Lorber Films has acquired US theatrical, DVD, digital and educational rights to Genius Within: The Inner Life ofGlenn Gould.

The documentary about the legendary pianist, produced by White Pine Pictures and directed by Michèle Hozer and Peter Raymont (Shake Hands with the Devil ), is slated to open in September at New York’s Lincoln Plaza Cinemas, with DVD and digital distribution to follow in the first quarter of 2011.

The acquisition was negotiated by CEO and co-president Richard Lorber and vice president Elizabeth Sheldon for Lorber Films, Films Transit International vice president Diana Holtzberg, and White Pine head of business affairs Kelly Jenkins.
