Magnet Releasing has acquired US rights from Thai studio Sahamongkol to Panna Rittikrai’s martial arts film BKO: Bangkok Knockout.
BKO features a range of martial art disciplines as a group of fight club friends whose styles vary from Muay Thai and Capoeira to Kung Fu and Tai Chi must fight for their lives when one of them is kidnapped.
“BKO is a bigger, badder, crazier Born To Fight, and further proof that Panna and Sahamongkol do death-defying action better than anyone,” Magnet senior vice-president Tom Quinn, who negotiated the deal with Sahamongkol’s Gilbert Lim, said.
Magnet will release BKO in 2011.
