Hot off the heels of a Toronto buying spree Magnet Releasing announced on Tuesday it had acquired US theatrical and VoD rights to West’s ghost film.

The story follows employees of a famous inn who set out to determine whether the place is actually haunted before it is due to close down.

West and Magnet previously collaborated on The House Of The Devil. The Innkeepers stars Sara Paxton, Pat Healy and Kelly McGillis.

Derek Curl, Peter Phok and West produced with Larry Fessenden of MPI/Dark Sky Films in partnership with Glass Eye Pix.

Magnet will release through its Ultra VoD platform on Dec 30 ahead of theatrical roll-out in major markets in early February 2012.

Svp of acquisitions Dori Begley and head of legal and business affairs Chris Matson brokered the deal with MPI Media Group evp Greg Newman.

The pair negotiated rights in Toronto to Goon, God Bless America and The Hunter.
