Magnet Releasing will launch the second volume of its Six Shooter Film Series with Ong Bak 2: The Beginning on VOD this week.

Whereas the first Six Shooter Film Series took a broad look at international genre such as Let The Right One In and Timecrimes, Six Shooter V2 will focus on action.

The V2 series features Nicolas Winding Refn’s Bronson, John Woo’s Red Cliff, District 13: Ultimatum, The Warlords starring Jet Li, Andy Lau and Takeshi Kaneshiro, and a sixth film to be announced.

All tiles will premiere on Magnolia/Magnet’s Ultra VOD platform one month prior to theatrical release. will open in limited theatrical release on October 23.

“We’d been wanting to revisit the Six Shooter Film Series, and it was clear once we started assembling this incredible crop of top notch action films that the series should pay homage to some of the masters of modern action,” Magnet/Magnolia senior vice-president Tom Quinn said.

“John Woo, Jet Li, Tony Jaa, parkour legends David Belle and Cyril Raffaelli, not to mention Nicolas Winding Refn and newcomer Tom Hardy – for an adrenalin junkie it doesn’t get much better than that.”
