Magnolia Pictures has acquired North American rights to The Hero Of Color City and has pencilled in a 2014 release on the children’s story.

Christina Ricci, Rosie Perez, Wayne Brady and Craig Ferguson star in the animated feature about crayons that come to life. Frank Gladstone directed and John D Eraklis and Max Howard produced.

“The Hero Of Color City boasts a talented cast of celebrity voices, and promises to be a delightful film for young children that will inspire their imaginations,” said Magnolia president Eamonn Bowles.

“We are delighted to work with Eamonn and his incredible team at Magnolia on this wonderful film,” said Eraklis.
