German sales outfit seals deals for UK, Spain, Benelux, Scandinavia and others.
Match Factory has secured a host of sales on Miranda July’s sophomore drama The Future, which recently played in Competition in Berlin.
The list of deals includes UK (Picturehouse Entertainment), Spain (Golem), Benelux (ABC Cinemien), Scandinavia and Baltic States (Nonstop Entertainment), Ex-Yugoslavia (MCF Megacom), Portugal (Atalanta Filmes), Taiwan (Joint Ent.) and South Korea (T’Cast). Further territories are under negotiation.
Roadside Attractions acquired North American rights after the film’s world premiere at Sundance in January.
Written and directed by July, The Future tells the story of a thirty-something couple whose perspective on life is turned upside down after they adopt an ill cat.
Starring July, Hamish Linklater and David Warshofsky, the film is produced by Gina Kwon (GNK Productions), Roman Paul and Gerhard Meixner (Razor Film) and executive produced by Sue Bruce-Smith (Film 4).
