Media Luna has boarded international sales for Jacco Groen’s Lilet Never Happened, produced by Springfilm and F&ME.
The film is about a 12-year-old Philippine-American girl who is a child prostitute in Manila; a social worker (Johanna Ter Steege) tries to help her.
“From the beginning there was a small group of people who always believed in Lilet Never Happened. We all were convinced that Lilet and her heart-wrenching story had to be told. We are happy to see that there is now international belief in the movie” says Groen.
“Jacco Groen has such a sensitive and unique approach for these social issues, without falling into clichés and stereotypes, allowing the audience a view in a world under a quite special angle”, added Ida Martins, managing director of Media Luna.
