The UK distributor has made three key appointments following the departure of its general manager and CEO.
As part of its ongoing restructuring, UK outfit Metrodome has announced three key appointments.
Jezz Vernon has been promoted to head of distribution with immediate effect. Sales, marketing, operations and PR departments will now report directly into him. Vernon joined Metrodome in 2005 and was previously head of marketing and operations. Vernon will report directly into the CEO., Mark Webster
James Brown has been promoted to head of acquisitions and productions and will also report directly in to the CEO. Brown will oversee the Metrodome production slate which currently includes Age of Heroes, shooting now and starring Danny Dyer and Sean Bean, and Curse of the Dragon starring Vinnie Jones and Danny Glover. Content Film will be launching sales on Age of Heroesat the Cannes Film Festival next month.
Jamie Brewer will be responsible for sales and new business and commercial development. Brewer will report into Vernon for sales and into the CEO in all other areas.
Metrodome describes itself as “a specialist in releasing left handed, independent, arthouse films.” The current restructuring comes in the wake of the recent news that Sara Frain was withdrawing from her position as General Manager at Metrodome and that Peter Urie was stepping down as company CEO to concentrate on his production activities. Last week, the company, which also has a strong Home Entertainment division, issued a statement confirming its continuing commitment to theatrical distribution.
