Distributor will release the film [pictured], the first on Parkland Pictures’ new genre label Darkland Distribution, in January.
Parkland Pictures has sold UK rights of found footage horror Hollow to Metrodome UK, which the distributor is set to release in January 2013.
It is the first title on the new Parkland genre label Darkland Distribution slate, which also includes Airborne, starring Mark Hamill, and The Warning, with Simon Phillips.
The sale was negotiated by Joel Kennedy and Giles Edwards of Metrodome and John Cairns and Pierre-Louis Manes of Parkland. Tribeca Films took the US rights to the film, which premiered at Montreal’s Fantasia International Film Festival in 2011, earlier this year.
From writer/director duo Matt Holt and Michael Axelgaard, Hollow follows the harrowing chain of events that transpire after a group of school mates uncover a grisly local legend while on holiday.
Parkland CEO John Cairns commented: “Hollow is a genuinely scary film from formidable writer/director team Matt Holt and Michael Axelgaard. We’re delighted to work with Metrodome, who have a proven track record of successfully distributing genre films.”
