Momentum has taken UK rights to Altitude Film Sales’ horror The Good People, to be directed by Corin Hardy [pictured].
The pact marks the first market deal for Will Clarke’s new outfit Altitude.
Co-written by Hardy (who is a former Screen International Star of Tomorrow) with Olga Barreneche, the home-invasion horror, about a couple who comes under attack from demonic creatures after moving into a new home, is produced by Joe Neurauter and Felipe Marino of Occupant Entertainment.
ICM and Occupant Entertainment are handling US sales.
Momentum’s parent company Alliance Films is expected to be less aggressively acquisitive at AFM due to its impending acquisition by eOne.
Mike Runagall, managing director of Altitude said: “We’re thrilled to have Momentum as our UK partner on The Good People. They have been so successful in maximising the performance of genre films in the UK market and will be a great home for the film. We eagerly anticipate further deals from our strong slate in the coming days.”
Robert Walak, SVP of acquisitions and production, Alliance Films said: “Corin’s breakout project, The Good People, is an exciting and chilling adult fairytale which will have resonance with UK audiences and complements our distribution slate. Momentum has a track record of handling these genre films very well.”
