The distributor has picked up all US and Canadian rights Gabrielle Demeestere’s Slamdance selection starring James Franco and Henry Hopper.

Newcomer Calum John, Alec Mansky and Everett Meckler round out the cast on the 1985-set tale of three school friends in the wealthy California local of Palo Alto.

Yosemite is based on Franco’s short stories from his collection A California Childhood. Rabbit Bandini Productions produced with The Art Of Elysium and Sam Slater and Paul Bernon of Burn Later Productions.

monterey brokered the deal with ICM Partners and plans a winter 2015 launch.

  • Cinedigm has acquired all North American rights to Punk’s Dead: SLC Punk 2 and will release theatrically in early 2016 followed by digital roll-out. Punk’s Dead is the sequel to 1999’s SLC Punk and follows the next generation of outcast misfits adrift in the Utah hinterlands. Cinedigm brokered the deal with XYF Films.
