Observers said Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf Of Wall Street was the key contender to fill the newly vacated holiday season slot.

True-life The Monuments Men directed by George Clooney was originally set to open on December 18 but got postponed due to visual effects commitments.

Clooney stars alongside Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett, John Goodman, Jean Dujardin and Bill Murray.
